RICOLINO CANDY

I can’t believe we’re almost done. It feels so surreal. It feels like just yesterday that we walked into 210, ready to meet Mr. Mitchell. Since then, we’ve had a year full of chaotic class discussions, notebook prompts (looking back at my notebooks, my handwriting got so much worse…), essays, some extremely diabolical manifestos, Mr. Mitchell patriotism (thank you Elanor and Max), and so much more. It’s just now hitting that this is the end. Freshman year is almost over. While this year had ups and downs, I’m going to miss it, I’m going to miss the energy everyone brings to each classroom. The laughs, the cries, the crash outs.

As a Paleta Payaso member, under Ricolino’s rule, for this last blogpost, I’m going to rate different Ricolino candies.

Duvalín:

A Duvalín can come in many different flavors and combinations of this frosting type thing including strawberry, hazelnut, and vanilla. They also come with a tiny spoon. IF YOU FREEZE THEM… perfection. In general, I’d give Duvalíns a 8/10.

BubuLubu:

A BubuLubu is made out of marshmallow and strawberry jam, covered in chocolate. I have good memories of this candy because my uncle would always surprise me with them when I was little. While these aren’t my favorite things in the whole wide world, THEY ARE GOOD FROZEN TOO. I’d give these a 6 or 6.5/10.

Bocadín:

A Bocadín is a peanut butter and wafer candy bar, which is dipped in chocolate. I’m allergic to peanuts…. 0/10.

Paleta Payaso:

Last but not least, PALETA PAYASOS. Okay, so if I talk bad about Paleta Payasos, I’m going to get attacked. A Paleta Payaso is supposed to resemble the payaso (clown) on the wrapper (spot the difference) but uh, it never does. The face of a Paleta Payaso is made out of a marshmallow covered in chocolate with gummies for the mouth and eyes. IF YOU EAT THE GUMMIES FIRST, WE ARE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE. I’d rate Paleta Payasos a 10/10, which is definitely not because of external influences and I am definitely not being held at gunpoint right now.

Thank you for reading our last blogpost of the year! I wish everyone the best on this last week. This year has been a real rollercoaster. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER and remember that Ricolino is always watching.

  1. Great post Isa!! I'm a true Paletapayasist, so I have say Paleta Payasos are my favorite (I might eat the gummies first though...). Some of the other candies by Ricolino I've never heard of before, but I'll definitely try them out!
