Hi! I’m new on this blog and am super excited to start working on posts for here. My first post for this blog will be about the book Starter Villain by John Scazli.
Starter Villain is about Charlie, who used to be a reporter but is now a divorced substitute teacher. He currently lives in his hometown with his cat, Hera, in the house that he grew up in. However, when his uncle (who he didn’t know that well), Jake, dies, Charlie inherits his parking garage company. However, as Charlie learns more about his uncle, he figures out that Jake was actually a supervillain and owned a volcano island base in the Caribbean. He also figures out that there are not only genetically modified cats, used for spying on other villains, but also genetically modified dolphins (who want to go on strike), used for the island’s security. Charlie now has to figure out how to navigate the new world of villainy.
This book was really good. It was really funny and well thought out, and there was a lot of amusing writing. The story sounds a little weird when you first hear what it is about but is actually really interesting once you start reading. It is a really interesting concept, especially with the genetically modified animals, but was still a fun subject. Overall, a really good book, and I definitely would recommend it.

I love how random and weird this book sounds. You kind of surprised me when you mentioned the genetically modified spy animals, but it actually seems like a really fun book. Great job on you post!
ReplyDeleteHey Sophia, This book definitely sounds very interesting to say the least, and quite an exquisite choice if I had to choose from a range of different subjects at a library. However, this is a great start to your journey here at the Paleta Payaso blog group, and we're glad to have you here! Thanks for remembering to put our emblem at the end of your review. All hail paleta payaso.
ReplyDeleteHi Sophia, this book sounds really interesting. I like how you explained the summary. Great blog post!
